Purpose is that burning passion that makes you restless in life. You are not satisfied until you achieve or are in alignment with your assignment in life. Everyone has a purpose. It is the reason why God created you. Some are called to be a singer, preacher, teachers, doctors, prophets. The most important thing is to ask God in place of prayer to show you your purpose.
When you know your purpose, you will find fulfillment in it, but when you don’t know your purpose or assignment you will end up in a miserable state. People without purpose wants to be everywhere to do what the world admires, without finding fulfillment in it. They serve the world and are not bothered to know how God feels.
There are reasons and a purpose you were created, you are not an accident. God deposited a purpose in you before you were born. Keep on reading and find out for yourself how you can discover your purpose in life.
It doesn’t matter your situation or what you have been through, you can still find your purpose. Nehemiah was the king cupbearer. He knew he was more than that, and when he heard that walls of Jerusalem were broken down he cried, he was sad and prayed to God. God answered him and he felt peace within him and went before the king for permission to go and rebuilt the walls.
How do you discover your purpose in life?
1.Passion
Whatever you are passionate about, whatever your heart desire and burning for, and you do it and find fulfillment in it, that is your purpose. When you have a burden over something, it bothers you, it is not irritating you, but instead, you are weighed down when it is not done, it stays in your mind that is your purpose. Just go for it and you will have a confirmation of peace of mind. Nehemiah 1:4 ”When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven”
2. Possibilities
when you have a purpose, it becomes a burning desire. Don’t wait, just do it. God will provide all you need, God will give you the opportunity, the possibilities to do it. Doors will be open to you. If God wants you to do something, He will surely open the door. Your gift will definitely open the door of possibilities and opportunities for you. Never wait, act on your purpose. Nehemiah 2:4-6 ”The king said to me, “What is it you want?”Then I prayed to the God of heaven, and I answered the king, “If it pleases the king and if your servant has found favour in his sight, let him send me to the city in Judah where my ancestors are buried so that I can rebuild it.”Then the king, with the queen sitting beside him, asked me, “How long will your journey take, and when will you get back?” It pleased the king to send me; so I set a time”
3. Provision
When you are in your purpose, God will provide all you need for you, by sending the right people into your life. The king gave Nehemiah everything he needed for his journey to go build the Jerusalem walls and also gave him soldiers. Everything he needed was provided. One thing is certain lots of people don’t get to understands their purpose in life, so they live their lives complaining that there is no one to help them. When you have a purpose your helper of destiny will come and the resources needed will also come. Nehemiah 2:7-9 ”I also said to him, “If it pleases the king, may I have letters to the governors of Trans-Euphrates, so that they will provide me safe-conduct until I arrive in Judah? And may I have a letter to Asaph, keeper of the royal park, so he will give me timber to make beams for the gates of the citadel by the temple and for the city wall and for the residence I will occupy?” And because the gracious hand of my God was on me, the king granted my requests. So I went to the governors of Trans-Euphrates and gave them the king’s letters. The king had also sent army officers and cavalry with me”
4. Players haters
If many of us know what we know today, many lives would not have wasted. God uses people to let you know that you are hated in the right way. It might sound stupid. But you will always have people who hate you for what you do, and when you are in your right purpose, they will say all manners of things to talk you out. Hold on because you are heading in the right direction. When people hate you for what you do, don’t be sad, or angry instead praise God. ”Nehemiah 2:10 ”When Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite official heard about this, they were very much disturbed that someone had come to promote the welfare of the Israelite ” Nehimiah 2:19 ”But when Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite official and Geshem the Arab heard about it, they mocked and ridiculed us. “What is this you are doing?” they asked. “Are you rebelling against the king”
5. Partners
When you discover your purpose, God will raise people to help you make it happen. God will put a few people around you, that will mastermind with your passion and purpose and you will see that those people will be in alignment with your purpose in life.
Conclusion
God never made any of us work or operate in isolation. God is a God of provision and he will partner with you on your purpose, send few good men your way. Don’t forget when you don’t have a passion for anything that is weak working with God. Go close to God today and He will show you your purpose in life.
