Who we are today and what we have become today is as a result of what we have welcomed into our lives or the company we keep. Sometimes we cannot really control how things are directed to us, but the good news is we can definitely control the people or company that stays in our life.
According to the word of God in the book of 2 Corinthians 6:14 ”Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?
When you surround yourself with positive people, people that support you no matter what and people that have your interest at heart. You will certainly achieve whatever you want in life.
Below Are Some Signs That Indicate You Are In a Bad Company.
1. They call on you when they feel like is comfortable for them.
If the only time you hear from those you love or call your friends, is only when they are comfortable to call, no constant communications or even test messages or commitment. That is a red flag that indicates you are in the wrong company. Any relationship without regular interaction and communication is going to have problems, especially when there’s a lack of commitment.
Never try wasting time and energy with people who want to call on you because they need your help or it is convenient for them. Forcing yourself on such people will only break your heart.
2. They don’t believe in your dreams
If you tell them about your plans, they mock you or even form a group behind you to gossip about your plans. They kill your dreams even before you start. They want and like to tell you how you should run your life. They are always right and they are very good at defending their right. They never take your advice they believe they know better than you.
3. They are secretly jealous of what you have and what you have achieved
If you notice any sign of jealousness or envies among the company of friends you keep. It is a big red flag to run for your life. Someone that is jealous of a friend or family member is telling you that they prefer to have what you have because they feel you don’t deserve anything good. You have to be very sensitive. Because such people will always want to pull you down. Anyone with a spirit of jealousy will certainly kill or harm someone if they get the chance.
4. They fill you up with hateful advice and want you to be judgemental
If all they do is to gossip about other people and tell you only negative things about them. It is a sign that you are in a bad company. In respect to our race, colour religion, we all are created by one God. People that motivate you to join them in keeping malice with others just because they are offended are indirectly telling you that you don’t have to have your own mindset other than just follow them. Such people need not be around you.
5. Always refer you to your past
If you are in the company of friends or it can also be among family members. When they are still holding you because of things that happened in the past. It is likely to indicate that you are in a bad company. They may not be able to stand that you have grown and moved on. They are bitter people that never want you to be happy. They like rewarding people according to their past mistakes. Organize your Future and walk away from them.
6. When you feel choked
Any relationship or friendship that doesn’t give room for free communication is a sign that you don’t have any business being in that company. There should be plenty of freedom and the circle should not be restricted. Mostly in a relationship or marriage, there should be enough room for communication and compromise.
