Introduction

Matthew 7:16 ”By their fruit, you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? It means you can identify fake friends by their fruits that is by the way they act.

As a child growing up in a polygamous home, where love was never enough to go around the children. I begin to look outside my home for attention and love. But soon realized that the more, l tried the l was taken advantage of and dealt with.

The friends that l always come across had some suspecting characters that l always questioned. But because l was not getting enough love and attention home l had no choice than to stick with them. They were the gossip types, they will betray others. It’s always a drama, but the older l grow the more, l began to keep my distance from such friends.

As l began to grow older, l have this determination to hang around positive people, people who are like-minded like me. Each time, l think of the phrase, ”You will become what you think about yourself” Birds of the same feathers flocks together”. With the above phrase l knew it was time to let go of these negative friends.

You must know that the five people you associate with the most, you will sooner or later be like them. When l think about the above phrase, it makes me do deep thinking, whenever l am accessing my friends. Like to thinks and know, if they are the type l would share my story and my life with.

The more, l tried the more, l began to see their true colors. It took me so many years before l finally learned what kind of friends l want in my life.

So today, l need an honest, consistency, and reliable friend, etc. l must tell you, it is very hard to spot or identify a toxic friend in your life. In the next post, l will take you through different kinds of friends you need to avoid to enable you to go far in life.
