As a true Christian, what you need to do to be able to hear from God is, stop listening to what people say about you, rather let your focus be on God and his word. Below are some points to be put into consideration.
1. Stay Focused On God
Isaiah 26:3 made us understand, that when we position ourselves on God He will keep us in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on God because such a person is trusting God with all his or her hearts. Let us be very careful, not to run to God when we are in trouble, lets make God our number priority, not our problems.
2. Get Prepared
Having your mind prepared on God is what will open your heart to hear his voice when the Holy Spirit speaks. In order to hear from God, get questions, you need to ask God what your mission is, how did He want you to accomplished that mission. Try to do away with sin. God still speaks, it can come in the form of a dream, visions impression, or thoughts. So when you prepare your heart God will minister to you.
3. Eat The Word Of God
It means you need to feed your soul with the word of God always. Never you give yourself a day without you being in the presence of God. Matthew 6:33 ”But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you”. When you seek God in his word, He will show up in your case, God will speak to you in the place of study.
4. Be Grateful
When you appreciate whatever God is doing in your life, that attitude of gratefulness will open your ears to hear from God. Never you form the attitude of complaining, or murmuring, it drives the Holy Spirit. Be in the position of praise and worship all the time. It is your praise and worship that brings God down from his throne.
5. Bless Others
Learn to be of good cheer to others. Never stop learning the word of God. Whenever you study and learn from His word share with others and make the knowledge that God exists and you will become God’s vessels, He will continue to speak to you.
