There was an unnamed woman in Luke 13:10-17. This woman has an infirmity that makes her bend over for 18 years and unable to stand straight and look up. For so many years, she couldn’t stand; how painful that must be. So one day Jesus was in the synagogue and saw this woman. She called out to her and healed her. Jesus said. (Dear woman, you are healed of your sickness)

Many women are suffering today not from physical bending, but from an abusive partner. They have been pushed down so hard that they barely have the strength to stand straight. She became so traumatized by the same person she loved that she is unable to move forward.

Just like the woman in Luke 13. She was bent over for 18 years, and it became a chronic disease. A woman who is stuck with a narcissistic partner who cheats, lies, manipulates, gaslights, and even physically abuses her will become sick. She becomes afraid and anxious about everything around her.

Most women go through emotional pain at the hands of their spouse. If they never find the courage to walk away from the abuse, it might become a permanent bondage for the rest of their lives.

No woman deserves to be maltreated by their spouse, but when that becomes the case, call out to God for help and direction. God is waiting patiently to take you by the hand. He is waiting to heal you from the disease that has overshadowed your true self.

In conclusion, love is supposed to be a blessing and a place of joy and happiness; when it becomes a disease, it needs to be reconsidered.
