For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Knowing what you’re called to do in life and knowing how to fulfill it has been a problem for many women. As sad as it may sound, many women have given up on their life dreams because of circumstances that arise in their lives.

But there are always ways to find out who you’re and what your mission is on earth.

Here is the definition of a calling. It’s a strong urge towards a particular way of life or career; a vocation.

Rumi said in a quote let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love.

Callings are not easy to follow. There will always be a challenge and a voice trying to distract us from who we really are, and this will lead us to get a job we’re not passionate about, and this can leave us frustrated and unfulfilled. But when our calling is discovered, we’ll be determined to push forward and make sure that we fulfill our dreams.

Here Are 5 Ways To Discover Your Calling

  • Learn To Seek The Face Of God

Yes! God has given us all that we need to succeed, but when we fail to identify our calling, there will be a problem. Seeking the face of God when we are confused will enable us to reconnect with the maker and He will surely open our eyes to see who we are born to be.

  • Notice what Sparks You.

That thing that captivated you when you were young. Sometimes we are choked by our parents to become what they wished for us. This is not bad, because they’re worried and want us to be financially stable to take care of ourselves and our responsibility.

Let go of what your parents want you to become and reflect on what you love to do as a child. What were you playing with? When you get the answers to these questions, you might just discover your calling.

  • Ask Others What They Think About Your Calling

There is nothing bad in asking your friends and family about your passions. Be bold to ask them what they see as your calling. When you hear them, be very attentive to observe what sparks up the yes in you.

  • Find Way To Connect With That Feeling In You

Taking the time to meditate on what sparks you and gives you a sense of fulfillment. This will not only help you discover your calling but will also be a guide to that calling. When you are in that mood of meditation and reflection, take notes of what comes strongly to you, these are your qualities and who you are.

The Best gift you can ever give to yourself is discovering who you are born to be.

  • Be Patient

Most callings need patient. God created everyone with a calling. To be able to discover it, one needs patience. It is good to have a job if you struggle with who you really are. But in the meantime, gradually follow your passion until it becomes fully part of you, and using your present job as a stepping stone to who you are born to be.

Living our lives by honoring our callings creates deep contentment and gratefulness. Now that you know how to discover your calling, what are you going to do about it? IT is never too late to start honoring your calling.
