Being confident means being comfortable with yourself. If you want to go far in your speaking career, You need to over the spirit of fear. Lack of confidence comes with fear and anxiety. It can also come from slight anxiousness and panic of what and how people or the audience will react to your message. When you are not bold and confident with yourself, you can get shaking hands and the people will hear from your voice how nervous you are.

I was also a victim of a lack of self-confidence when l first started speaking on camera and in a public forum. I overcame my fear with the points below

1. Plan Ahead [Get All Materials Ready]

Planning ahead of time will allow you to be prepared. So that you will not be taken on aware. You need to get all pieces of information needed for you to be able to speak with confidence. Audios or visual aid is very important. To avoid nervousness, the more you are organized and plan the better your presentation will be.

2. Serious Practice ls Required

Serious practicing is required before any presentation. Sometimes if you are comfortable with some people you can rehearsal in front of them and ask for feedback. In my case l normally practice some times with unfamiliar people. In that way, you can improve your confidence in the aspect of speaking.

3. Dare To Face Some Worries

Listening to your specific worries will help you to take a bold step to overcome them. When a determination is in place, you will conquer that fear and worries.

4. Exist In Your Success

Celebrate your success before your presentation. A positive mindset goes a long way when dealing with public speaking. When your mind is renewed it helps to release some anxiety.

5. Take Time To Think [Deep Breath]

Taking some time to breathe is very important. Sometimes, it might come as a result of you losing track of your speech. Don’t be worried, sometimes your audience might not even notice it. All you need is some quick reflection and then continue with your presentation.
