Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the Lord! Lamentations 3:40

As a human, knowing who you are and what you are called to do is very important if you want to succeed. Many times people are confused about who they are, they try to do things that they are not passionate about. It might just be for the money, attention, and titles. But until you sit down and have a meeting with yourself, you might continue to strive and work hard without getting satisfied and fulfilled. You might also be angry with yourself and everyone around you. Or you might keep on blaming others for not moving forward in life.

I used to believe the reason I was not seeing a result in what l do, was other people’s fault. I blamed others for my failures and misfortunes. I never took the time to know who I am and what I was born to be. I never knew that all the trouble I faced in the past was still hanging around me, and this led me to keep on making the same mistake over and over again. I fell in love with the same people only with different names.

If we ever want to live a happy and fulfilled life, please let’s stop struggling to be like others or blame others for our misfortune, rather allow God to mold and build us into that person He called us to be. Allowing God to work in our lives might require us to have a meeting with ourselves. Here are the details.

  • Learn to spend time with God alone. Go before him in prayer. That quiet moment, if you’re attentive you will hear God revealing to you who you are, and what your calling is. You don’t need any man to tell you that, because you can hear directly from God if you take time to be in his presence.
  • It takes time to see the result. Know that changing who you are, will take time. It’s not what will happen in one day or month. It’s a process that needs your attention and honesty. In the meantime, there will be things you must let go of. Let go of that past hurt, humiliation, shame, and bitterness. In the process of having this meeting with yourself, there are things you will come across, and maybe also find it difficult to let go. Believe me when I say this until you let go of those hurts, and give yourself time to heal from it, it might be hard to move on with your real self.
  • Keep believing in yourself. In the process of having a meeting with yourself, keep believing in yourself by allowing every experience to flow naturally. Follow whatever way God is leading you. Keep studying the word. Resist the devil, because he is a cunning thing that will try to complicate your thought.

There is nothing impossible for God to do. When you go before him in prayers and supplication. He will surely open your eyes to see his grace, mercy, and compassionate love for you.

Why not start today by having that meeting with yourself.
