How well do you understand the scripture? If you must see the light in the scriptures, you should be able to divide the scriptures rightly. In the book of 2 Timothy 2:15, it says to study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Lots of people have fallen victims to false teachers just because they refused to study the scripture and allow the scripture to interpret itself. They so rely on whatever they hear from their preachers and build their life on it.
Here is the truth no one who calls himself a believer can make headway without rightly dividing the scripture. That is why there are lots of false preachers today who go about exploiting their followers and taking advantage of their ignorance.
Even the Bible told us in Hosea 4:6 that my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. If you belong to a church where miracles are the center of their messages or anywhere where miracles are celebrated and exalted, watch out because you might end up losing your senses.
These kinds of churches can only offer you stage miracles and distract you from the real gospel of Christ. Take time to hear people from such churches speak. You will find out that the wrong interpretation of the scriptures that they have been told is what they also teach others even when they go out for evangelism.
The only message they have is how many miracles their prophets can perform. They advertise their men of God and the materials they sell.
Without a sound doctrine, these false preachers are noisemakers who only have one agenda, to exploit their followers. People that run from church to church seeking miracles have no faith. When you have faith, in the finished work of Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection, there will be nothing you will ask of him that will not be given to you.
The only treatment for a sound mind is to build up your faith in sound doctrine. Know and study the scriptures because that is what will bring you the knowledge and the result you want.
